Job Description
We are recruiting Project Associates to join the International Trade Division of India SME Forum, to assist in leading and developing International Collaborations, supporting Export Promotion, and initiating Trade Cooperation for MSMEs from India.
The applicant will contribute to the strategy for exports from the MSME sector, develop a pipeline of export opportunities, build a network of influential International Embassy staff as well as Indian Government stakeholders at the Central and State levels, and deliver market & trade development activities. He/She should also be flexible and able to respond to any adjustment in role and responsibilities arising from strategy changes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Create and implement strategies for enhancing bilateral and multilateral MSME-to-MSME relationships.
- Research, identify, and deliver high-value export opportunities for MSMEs, and support Indian companies in accessing these opportunities and securing significant business in international markets.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive database of MSME exporters and buyers across diverse product lines.
- Develop and manage senior relationships with SME & Trade Associations and multipliers internationally.
- Work on trade policy and market access challenges to address trade barriers faced by Indian companies in collaboration with government stakeholders.
- Organize and lead International Trade Promotion initiatives and participation in Exhibitions and Events worldwide.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Graduation/Master’s Degree in any relevant field.
- 1–3 years of experience in International Trade Cooperation or related fields.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven stakeholder management skills, comfortable dealing with senior officials and business leaders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify significant opportunities for Indian businesses.
- Self-starting, professional, confident, and proactive approach to work.
- Ability to prioritize, manage time efficiently, and plan effectively.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Understanding of the MSME sector.
- Experience in working in an international environment and knowledge of additional languages.
- Awareness of the business environment and MSME-related policies in India.
