The opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Production Engineer specializing in Mechanical disciplines to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure the efficient and high-quality production of Hitachi products. This role focuses on improving production lines, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, and layouts for mechanical components and assemblies to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production line mechanical failures, deviations, and quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products, providing DFM (Design for Manufacturability) feedback and participating in new product introduction (NPI) activities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical production environment.
  • Manage and oversee the selection, installation, and commissioning of new mechanical production equipment and machinery.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost, generating reports and proposing improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards (e.g., ISO), and environmental guidelines in mechanical production operations.
  • Provide technical support and training to production operators and technicians on mechanical processes and equipment.
  • Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to evaluate and qualify suppliers of mechanical parts and components.
  • You will be ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a production engineering or manufacturing engineering role, preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, welding, stamping, injection molding).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for design review and process planning.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems and processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and industry safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
