Job Description

ROLE & CONTEXT

Purpose

Execution of all production activities for On-time delivery with all quality requirements & Valmet’s goals / strategy.

Context

Implement best practices to increase production volume, defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, focus on continuous improvements, safe working conditions to meet the organizational goals.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Overview

Supervise/co-ordinate Production/Fabrication work as per plan at shopfloor by referring released drawing -
Cutting layout preparation/Cut parts inspection
WIP Material identification/storage/handling
Any troubleshooting activities during shift work
Mock-up assemblies/final assemblies
Ensuring Utilities (Air/Power/Water, etc) availability
Packaging/Shipping
Perform documentation work, administrative and general support duties according to established guidelines and procedures so that these activities are completed accurately and on time
Prime responsibility to understand/study the fabrication drawings, must have the knowledge/hand on experience of various manufacturing processes like -
Welding_TIG/MIG/SMAW/FCAW
Metal Cutting_Laser/Plazma/Gas/Waterjet/Bandsaw
Bending/Rolling
Surface finishing_Grinding/Polishing/Buffing/Painting/Blasting
Testing_NDT inspections
Shift scheduling, Manpower allocation & skill development of workmen
Fitment checking of sub parts with specifications/drawings and releasing for fabrication
Must have a good knowledge of metallurgy_ MS/SS Raw material & filler materials
Perform in-process inspections (dimensional & visual) & do self-verifications for quality acceptance

of fabricated jobs before handing over to next process

Zero/minimum (as per company targets) defects, reworks, or rejections for fabricated jobs
Loss time data capturing And recording Verses available/Planned time_ Daily Production Reporting
Continuous productivity/efficiency improvements initiatives (Production targets monitoring &

expediting from all workers)

Facing shop audits (ISO/5’S/Lean) and making adjustments for improvements
Preparation of all documents and procedures for internal and external audits (SOP/WI)
Hours accounting in ERP, Production reports preparations
Maintaining housekeeping discipline in entire shop
Ensuring safe working practices & everyone is following safety rules
Operate precision measuring / testing instruments (two/three-dimensional precision measuring)
Drawing reading & understand symbolic language of GD&T (basics) system indicating engineering tolerances
Maintaining equipments compliant with respect to HSE guidelines & with minimized downtime
Raw material saving initiatives (Cost saving/reduction mindset) & minimize waste generation
Development of various toolings/jigs/fixtures to improve the production efficiency
Coordinate with Stores/Planning/Purchase team for inventory management of WIP as well as outside process requisitions raising & follow up for receiving
Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required by the project / business
Adhering to company’s Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) procedures
Adhering to company’s Values, Business principles and Code of conduct
