Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Area for a Press Tool Design Engineer. The role involves designing press tools and dies for precision electrical stampings and laminations, from concept through detailed engineering. The engineer will prepare and review CAD models and drawings, select materials and components, and ensure manufacturability, durability, and safety of tools. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with production and maintenance teams, supporting tool trials, troubleshooting tool-related issues, and implementing design changes for performance and quality improvement. The role also includes documentation of designs, maintaining design standards, and working closely with Pioneer Tool & Die Company on tool maintenance and enhancements.
Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Tooling Design, including press tool and die design for precision metal stampings.
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
  • Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering principles, including materials, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in Product Design for industrial or automotive components, with focus on functionality and manufacturability.
  • Knowledge of Injection Molding or other forming processes is beneficial for understanding diverse tooling approaches.
  • Relevant technical degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications, and to work closely with cross-functional shop-floor teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and capability to work safely in an on-site manufacturing environment.
