Portfolio Business Manager – Micro Business Loan/LAP

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Portfolio Business Manager to lead business development, portfolio management, and team performance within the assigned cluster. The role is responsible for driving MSME/LAP business growth, managing customer relationships, ensuring portfolio quality, and coordinating with cross-functional teams for seamless loan processing and servicing.

Qualification

  • Minimum Graduate.

Experience

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in Banking/NBFC/BFSI.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Preferred experience in Business Loans, Loan Against Property (LAP),& Housing Loans.

Key Skills

  • Strong sales, business development, and portfolio management capabilities.
  • Sound understanding of MSME lending, mortgage products, and credit assessment.
  • Knowledge of property documentation, legal and technical processes, EMI calculations, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with the local market and business environment.
  • Proficiency in Hindi and English.
  • Computer proficiency and willingness to travel extensively.

Key Responsibilities Business Development

  • Drive business growth by achieving assigned sales and portfolio targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence through field marketing and customer acquisition initiatives.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve business objectives.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on sales processes, products, and incentive programs.
  • Support team members through joint customer visits and field guidance.

Portfolio Management

  • Monitor portfolio quality and coordinate with Collections to ensure healthy portfolio performance.
  • Handle customer servicing, query resolution, and delinquent account management.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on leads and business opportunities.

Credit & Operations

  • Conduct customer, business, and property verification as per company policies.
  • Review income, banking, legal, and property documents for loan processing.
  • Prepare credit recommendations and coordinate with Credit, Legal, Technical, Operations, and other internal stakeholders for timely case approvals and disbursements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and secure handling of customer files.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit MIS, sourcing reports, portfolio reviews, and other business reports within timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information.
  • Safeguard company assets and uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
