Experienced Industrial PLC & Controls Technician Wanted

$35–$40/hr + Full Benefits

AluChem, Inc. is looking for a skilled PLC & Controls Technician to support and improve automation systems in our industrial manufacturing facility.

This is a hands-on role for someone with strong PLC troubleshooting, industrial electrical, and automation experience who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, and working closely with maintenance and production teams to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

We’re looking for someone who can confidently troubleshoot real manufacturing equipment — not just from a screen, but out also on the plant floor.

What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot and support industrial PLC, automation, and electrical control systems across the plant
  • Program, modify, and maintain Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLC platforms
  • Diagnose and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, relays, motors, and instrumentation
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, P&IDs, and technical manuals
  • Implement and modify control system interlocks in collaboration with maintenance electricians to improve equipment reliability and system performance
  • Assist with automation upgrades, equipment installations, and continuous improvement projects
  • Perform preventative maintenance and respond to equipment downtime issues
  • Maintain documentation, backups, and records of PLC and controls modifications
  • Support troubleshooting and repair efforts alongside maintenance and operations teams
  • Help improve plant safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of industrial PLC, controls, automation, or electrical troubleshooting experience in manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix systems
  • Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with VFDs, motor controls, sensors, instrumentation, and automation equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently and work hands-on in the field
  • Experience implementing or modifying control system interlocks strongly preferred
  • Comfortable collaborating with electricians, maintenance technicians, engineering, and production teams
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
  • Reliable attendance and strong communication skills
  • Safety-focused mindset with a willingness to be hands-on when needed
