Experience: 3–6 years (Beauty / Personal Care / FMCG experience preferred)

Education Qualification: Any Graduate + IIP (Indian Institute of Packaging) preferred

Job Summary:

The Procurement Executive ( Packaging Quality & NPD) will be responsible for managing end-to-end new packaging development, supplier sourcing, and inward packaging quality assurance. This role will ensure that all new and existing packaging materials meet approved quality standards, regulatory requirements, cost targets, and project timelines. The position requires close collaboration with R&D, Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, along with strong vendor management and audit capabilities.

Key Responsibilities


A. Inward Packaging Quality Assurance

  • Ensure incoming quality inspection (IQC) of all packaging materials (primary, secondary, and tertiary) as per approved specifications.
  • Establish and maintain inward quality SOPs, checklists, and inspection criteria.
  • Verify dimensions, material properties, print quality, functionality, and appearance during inward inspection.
  • Ensure adherence to AQL standards, sampling plans, and inspection protocols.
  • Review and approve COA/COC, test reports, and traceability documents from suppliers.
  • Manage non-conformances, inward rejections, deviations, and supplier complaints.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and drive CAPA implementation with vendors.
  • Monitor inward quality trends, rejection rates, and first-time-right performance.


B. New Packaging Development (NPD) & Procurement

  • Manage packaging NPD projects from concept to commercialization.
  • Coordinate with R&D, Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to finalize packaging structures, materials, and specifications.
  • Source, evaluate, and onboard packaging suppliers for new developments.
  • Lead RFQs, cost negotiations, and commercial finalization for new packaging components.
  • Oversee sampling, mock-ups, trials, pilot batches, and technical approvals.
  • Ensure all packaging solutions meet functional, aesthetic, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality and performance.


C. Vendor Management & Compliance

  • Conduct and support vendor audits for quality systems, manufacturing capability, hygiene, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain approved vendor lists, audit records, and quality documentation.
  • Build supplier scorecards covering quality, delivery, cost, and service performance.
  • Ensure packaging materials comply with regulatory, safety, and customer standards relevant to beauty and personal care products.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives with suppliers.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong hands-on experience in Packaging NPD and inward quality assurance and in Packaging NPD and
  • Sound knowledge of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials
  • Expertise in IQC processes, supplier audits, RCA, and CAPA
  • Good understanding of packaging used in beauty & personal care / FMCG
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and cross-functional coordination


Preferred Background


  • 3–6 years of experience in NPD / Packaging Quality
  • NPD (20%) & Packaging Quality (80%)
  • Exposure to supplier audits, packaging trials, and commercialization support
  • IIP qualification or packaging specialization will be an advantage
