Job Description For An OT (Operating Theatre) Technician

Job Title: OT Technician

Department: Operation Theatre

Reports to: OT Manager/ Senior OT Technician

Job Summary

Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nurses in the operation theatre by setting up, maintaining, and operating equipment, and ensuring a sterile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare OT for surgeries (setup, equipment, supplies)
  • Assist in patient care and positioning
  • Operate and maintain OT equipment (sterilizers, lights, tables)
  • Manage instruments, supplies, and implants
  • Maintain OT hygiene and sterility
  • Assist in emergencies and crash situations

Requirements

  • Diploma in OT Technology/ Biomedical Engineering
  • 3 to 7 years OT experience preferred
  • Knowledge of OT procedures, equipment, infection control

Skills

  • Basic life support certified (preferred)
