Main Purpose

The Operations & Documentation Support team is at the heart of our physical non-ferrous trading business, driving the execution of physical flows across global supply chains. The role requires an individual to apply technical, contractual, and logistical knowledge to protect and optimize the deal P&L.

This is a progressive role providing deep exposure to multi-dimensional fields including Trade Finance (Letters of Credit, Incoterms), International Shipping/Logistics, Metal Product Specifications (grade, assays, impurities), and global import/export regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Optimization & Logistics Execution: Coordinate the end-to-end physical movement of non-ferrous metals (e.g., Copper, Aluminium, Brass, Lead, and Zinc) at different stages of the value chain – Logistics, Operations, and Documentation
  • Documentation & Contractual Compliance: Draft and review trade-related documentation, including Bills of Lading. Ensure all documentation strictly aligns with international purchase/sale contract terms.
  • Trade Finance & Credit Coordination: Prepare, execute, and present clean documentation under Letters of Credit (L/Cs) and Documentary Collections.
  • Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain robust working relationships with international clients, producers, yards and smelters, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Cost Control & Discrepancy Resolution: Track and manage end-to-end execution costs (ocean freight, inland freight, documentation, inspections).
  • Compliance & Policy Adherence: Ensure strict compliance with international maritime laws, local customs regulations, sanction policies, and the company's internal code of conduct and standard operating procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience: 2–3 years of experience in physical commodity operations, international logistics, trade finance, or documentation support. Experience within base metals or recycled/scrap metal is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Education: A degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, International Trade, Finance, or Engineering is desirable
  • Core Competencies: Extremely strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills. High business acumen with a distinct commercial mindset.
  • Working Style: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. A curious, self-starting individual who can think on their feet, problem-solve logistically challenging scenarios, and maintain meticulously organized records.
