Network Engineer - NOC / Network Administration / Break-Fix Support

We are seeking an experienced  Network Engineer with strong expertise in  NOC operations, network administration, and break-fix support for enterprise network environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points (WAPs), and VPN infrastructure in a fast-paced operational setting.

Key Responsibilities Network Operations & Support

• Provide network administration and break-fix support for routers, switches, firewalls, WAPs, and VPN tunnels within the supported environment.
• Perform device management and operational activities in accordance with approved SOPs and best practices.
• Ensure network availability and operational stability during standard support hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM PST).
• Monitor network infrastructure using client-provided monitoring and alerting tools.
• Identify, troubleshoot, triage, and resolve network incidents following ITIL-based Incident Management processes.
• Support P1/P2 incident response and remediation in coordination with the NOC team and Service Manager.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and Problem Management efforts for recurring network issues.

Firewall & Security Administration

• Administer and support Palo Alto firewalls, including:
• Firewall rule and ACL modifications
• VPN tunnel setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• IDS/IPS policy and signature management
• Escalate and forward security alerts/events to the designated Client SOC team.

Network Configuration & Change Management

• Execute Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletions (MACDs), including:
• Router interface updates
• Switch port configurations
• Firewall ACL changes
• Wireless AP configuration and support
• Support standard and low-risk network changes during approved maintenance windows, including rollback activities when required.
• Perform configuration backup and restore operations for supported network devices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies and infrastructure support.
• Experience working in NOC or production network support environments.
• Knowledge of routing, switching, VPNs, wireless networking, and firewall administration.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident management, and change management practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and coordination skills.
