Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Design Engineer role located in Bengaluru. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies related to wire and cable harness systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer requirements. Daily tasks include creating and updating detailed CAD models and drawings, performing design calculations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, quality, and production to optimize designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability. The role involves reviewing specifications, conducting design feasibility studies, supporting prototype builds and testing, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering function.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to practical product solutions.
• Must have experience in Aerospace and Defence
• Aerospace and Defence Rugged Console, Rugged Display, ATR Chassis Design Knowledge.
• Proficiency in Machine Design and Product Design, including experience with mechanical components, assemblies, and design for manufacturability.
• Hands-on experience with Solid Works, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools 2D and 3D modeling software used in mechanical and product design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and basic tolerance and GD&T practices.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, and to work effectively with production and quality teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple design tasks and deadlines.
• Prior experience in wire harness, cable assemblies, or related industries is an advantage.
