Job Purpose:

To design, research, and develop mechanical components and systems for conveyor and automation projects. The Design Engineer will support the design and production teams in preparing CAD models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in new product design reviews and develop part specifications.
• Prepare CAD models, GA layouts, and detailed 2D/3D drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Maintain design documentation including drawings, BOMs, and reports.
• Coordinate with the production team during assembly and project execution.
• Research and draft blueprints, engineering plans, and technical documents.
• Identify and implement design modifications for improved efficiency.
• Develop detailed design drawings and sheet metal components.
• Support manufacturing and assembly teams with ongoing technical guidance.
• Maintain existing engineering records and ensure version control.
• Collaborate with management and other departments on design improvements.

Requisite Skills:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical components (gearmotors, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.)
• Excellent command over mechanical calculations and part selection
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory) and 2D drafting
• Understanding of workshop practices and fabrication processes
• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, gauges)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical degree
