The Managing Director – Global Logistics Hub & Intermodal Connectivity will spearhead the strategic vision and operational excellence of our global logistics hub, integrating advanced intermodal connectivity solutions that optimize supply chain efficiencies across multiple regions. This pivotal role requires a forward-thinking leader with an in-depth understanding of global logistics and supply chain management, able to drive innovation while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and sustainability goals. The successful candidate will demonstrate an exceptional ability to foster cross-functional collaboration, mentorship, and team development, whilst managing complex relationships with stakeholders, customers, and partners within a highly competitive landscape. The incumbent will leverage data analytics to inform decision-making and continuously improve service delivery metrics, ensuring alignment with the organization’s long-term objectives.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 15 years of comprehensive experience in global logistics, supply chain management, or related fields, with a track record of driving strategic initiatives in intermodal connectivity.
- Proven ability to lead and manage large-scale logistics operations across diverse geographies, showcasing expertise in optimizing transportation, warehousing, and distribution systems.
- Extensive experience in budget management, including forecasting, variance analysis, and cost control within logistics or supply chain functions.
- Demonstrated competency in stakeholder engagement and relationship management at senior executive levels, with a history of developing strategic partnerships and alliances.
- Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent field, with professional certifications in logistics or supply chain (e.g., APICS, CLTD, etc.) being highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of technology trends impacting logistics and supply chain management, including automation, data analytics, and advanced transportation management systems.
- Proven experience in leading organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives within a complex operational environment.
- Leadership qualities that include strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, and the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability practices in logistics, with a focus on reducing environmental impact and improving operational efficiencies.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas to diverse audiences.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance intermodal connectivity, ensuring seamless integration of logistics operations across global platforms.
- Drive operational excellence by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarking metrics to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Oversee the management of logistics and supply chain budgets, proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing resource allocations.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and clients, to enhance service offerings and operational reach.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, development, and accountability throughout the organization.
- Conduct risk assessments related to logistics operations, addressing potential challenges proactively and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Utilize data analytics to drive informed decision-making, assess service performance, and strategically plan for capacity and network enhancements.
- Represent the organization in industry forums and conferences, promoting thought leadership and sharing insights on trends impacting logistics and supply chain management.
- Initiate and oversee sustainability initiatives within logistics operations, striving for excellence in environmental performance and corporate responsibility.
- Ensure the integration of advanced technologies into logistics processes, evaluating the effectiveness of current systems and recommending impactful innovations.
