Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Architect to design, manage, and optimize enterprise-scale Mainframe infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in IBM z/OS systems administration, infrastructure architecture, performance tuning, automation, disaster recovery, and solutioning for complex client environments. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and sales organizations to provide strategic technology solutions and support business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM Mainframe infrastructure, including z/OS operating systems, hardware (zHardware), and core subsystems such as JES2, CICS, and TCP/IP.
• Monitor system performance, perform capacity planning, workload management, and system tuning to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for mission-critical environments.
• Apply system fixes, patches, upgrades, and maintenance using SMP/E and related tools.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using REXX and CLIST to streamline operational activities.
• Build, configure, and manage LPARs, IPL procedures, WLM policies, and Parallel Sysplex environments.
• Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and operational support to development and infrastructure teams.
• Evaluate and recommend system software upgrades, enhancements, and modernization initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and drive root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL-based service management processes and best practices.
• Participate in solution design, proposal preparation, RFP/RFI responses, and client presentations.
• Work closely with sales, pre-sales, and delivery teams to define and position infrastructure solutions for customers.
