Role Description The TSM Backup Administrator will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) backup and recovery environments for on-site systems in Bengaluru South. This full-time role includes configuring backup policies, performing regular backups and restores, troubleshooting backup failures, and ensuring data integrity and availability. The administrator will handle capacity planning, scheduling, and optimization of backup jobs, as well as generating reports and documentation for audits and performance reviews. The role involves collaborating with infrastructure, network, and application teams to support business continuity and implementing best practices for data protection and security.
Qualifications

• Strong experience with TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) or IBM Spectrum Protect administration, including backup, restore, and policy management.
• Solid understanding of backup architectures, storage systems, and basic networking concepts relevant to backup and recovery operations.
• Proficiency with operating systems commonly used in enterprise environments (such as Windows Server and Linux) for backup configuration and troubleshooting.
• Ability to analyze logs, identify issues, and perform root cause analysis for backup and restore failures.
• Good documentation skills and ability to create clear procedures, reports, and technical records.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams on-site.
• Relevant certification in backup technologies, storage, or systems administration is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
