What I expect for a Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) is my guy to overseeing an project and demand management portfolio , focus on the delivery business expectation with a good tracker on the KPIs and support the PM's to control and monitoring their project avoiding surprises and issues. Keep reinforcing the PM methodology and training them to use the PM Tool and following the all ground rules.

This role is essential in organizations that manage multiple initiatives competing for resources, budget, and executive attention.

Key topics for PPM

• Define and maintain portfolio management frameworks, processes, and methodologies.
• Ensure all projects align with corporate strategy and contribute measurable value.
• Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and decision-making cycles.

Key Topics for Finance in PPM

• Allocate resources across projects to optimize capacity and reduce bottlenecks.
• Develop and manage the portfolio budget, including forecasting and variance tracking.
• Partner with Finance to ensure investment transparency and cost control.

Key Topics for IT Budget

• Collect all the budget lines for each IT organization that provide support and sustain for Abrasives business - GDI , INDEC , ITS , Local Support Controls, Local Project Costs , Central Project Costs and others.
• Consolidate all the numbers in a specific budget template to make gap analysis , waterfall chart analysis , prepare executive presentation to share the analysis and get approval
• Tracking IT budget releases / update during the IT Budget review , keep control over the versions and gap analysis , helping the IT Team to find the savings and other opportunities to keep costs under control.
• Tracking IT Budget actuals costs and prepare analysis for Budget vs Actuals = Gap versus actions to keep budget control.
• Create a IT Budget cycle review with IT Managers and Finance Controlers ( Country and Region Level )
