Brief description of the Org Unit/ position/ role (purpose of position):

Technology Center Pune (TCP) / Technical Project steering (E0) / Head of Technical Project Information (E0/D)

Purpose of this position is to lead activities related to-

  • Project Data/Information Management
  • Management of complete technical data/information and associated activities in BOM(Bill of Material), MBT(Modell Beschreibung Technik), FAKOM(Farb + Kombinationstafel), CONNECT(Product life cycle management ) systems for IN Projects
  • Management of complete technical data/information and associated activities in BOM, MBT, FAKOM, CONNECT systems for EU Projects
  • Strategy
  • Lead E0/D strategic initiatives for IN and EU Projects to maximize the business potential benefitting SAVWIPL
  • Audit and Compliance
  • Ensure the compliance & adherence to management systems requirements, Lead E0/D audits, Risks assessments, Trainings and Sustainability initiatives
  • Budget
  • Control, monitor and report to respective projects coordinators for all projects

Task

Managing personnel (see personnel management task below)

Project Data/Information Management IN Projects: End to end responsible for all R&D system releases to build production cars and ensure project deliverable as per Project milestones

  • Bill of Material (BOM), Data Management, CONNECT activities
  • MBT and FAKOM (PR numbers, MBT Rules, etc.)

Project Data/Information Management EU Projects: Responsible for business needs of VW group companies and ensure project deliverables as per Project milestones. Services to VW Group companies in the area of R&D system releases (Bill of Material, Data Management, CONNECT, MBT, FAKOM etc.)

Change Management: Monitor and control MBT, FAKOM, BOM AVON post box responses at different stage of projects (status 90, status 496)

Plant Coordination: Flawless communications with Plant Functions (G, E, P, B etc.) Responsible to represent system releases status in Top Management forums

E HQ alignment: Coordination & establish communication with HQ for meeting project deliverables

Management Systems, Audits, GRC: Steer, drive, implement & monitor applicable ISO standards, group policies, Processes, Risk process for E0/D. Ensure adherence to compliances.

Future Projects/ Strategy: Define & drive implementation of E0/D strategy. Lead strategic initiatives for getting additional engineering responsibilities from HQ to India for IN & EU projects

Team Management: Manage and motivate the team regarding task delegation, MBO annual target setting, performance evaluation, maintain satisfaction index (Gems), resource planning and recommendation for remuneration.

Budget: Control, monitor and report to respective projects coordinators for all projects

Compliance: Develop internal capability to ensure robust compliance with Group processes and legislative requirements.

(Decision-making) Authorities

Authorized to evaluate and estimate the costs for the projects, IT systems or tools

Decision to monitor and control the budget and capacity planning for all projects

Decision & approval of RASI’s with MB for project related scopes

Represent E0/D in management gremiums to address project critical topics & escalations (CFT-IN & HQ)

Authorized for data provision and DMU collision analysis as per VW group guideline

Decision on budget planning, controlling and monitoring within E0/D (travel, contractual manpower)

Decision on planning of the capacity requirement of E0/D function (MPR, capacity planning, etc.)

Decision on department specific processes & contribution in Design and development process

Authorized to bring more business from VW Group companies in the area of R&D system releases

Decision in defining & implementing strategy for E0/D for IN and EU projects

Authorized co-ordinate, lead and bring solutions for the problems faced – in discussion with Cross Functional Team (SK MB E0D, E04/Z, TCP-SETs, P,B,G, etc.)

Authorized to monitor and control MBT, FAKOM, BOM AVON post box responses at different stage of projects (status 90, status 496)

Decisions & approvals on employee hiring, development, training, competency, succession plans

Authorized to ensure consistency of data security, data management and data communications

Responsibilities : Project Data/Information Management

R1. Bill Of Material, Data Management And CONNECT

  • Lead and ensure the BOM filling as per the project timeline using VW Group systems : TI-Syncro, Konstrukteri (BOM Filing system), KVS(Development data management system), AVON(Change Management system)
  • Lead and validate correctness of Bill of Material using TIS-Check system
  • Ensure technical releases (P,B,BMG,K) as per the project timeline using VW Group systems : TI-Syncro, KVS, AVON.
  • Ensure CONNECT system readiness as per the project timeline
  • Monitor and ensure BOM postbox responses as per the project timeline
  • Ensure the correctness of PDMs and complete releases

R2. MBT, FAKOM And KMDG(Konzern Master Data Governance)

  • MBT – Lead and ensure creation of PR numbers as per the project timeline
  • MBT – Lead and ensure MB Technik rules are created as per the project timeline & Farb-cockpit readiness and correctness as per project timeline
  • MBT - Monitor and ensure MBT postbox responses as per the project timeline
  • FAKOM – Lead coordination with ED WOB for creation of AADD keys(Aussen/Dach), interior codes and combination codes, as per the project timeline
  • FAKOM – Color combination management – Lead and ensure readiness and correctness as per the project milestone using Farb-cockpit system
  • FAKOM – Lead and ensure TFR (Techniche Farben Rules) are created as per project timeline

R3. Services To VW Group Systems

  • Build and lead a competent team to effectively meet the business needs of VW Group companies.
  • Planning and deployment of personnel and service performance in agreement with counter parts
  • Oversee budget planning, monitoring, and control to ensure financial efficiency and alignment with business goals
  • Responsible for roles and rights management in CONNECT system for Indian projects
  • Oversee project coordination and monitor progress across time, cost, and quality parameters, ensuring alignment with project milestones and objectives
  • Establish and implement new processes and RASI matrices to ensure seamless collaboration between business partner
  • Ensure adherence to the Product Development Process (PEP) guidelines, achievement of respective milestones (technical and budgetary) within the stipulated time period and with the desired results
  • Support strategic planning by preparing insightful and data-driven presentations for leadership forums
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external requirement such as technical specifications (LAH) regulatory, homologation and identified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

R4. Leadership Responsibility

  • The functional/Technical and interdisciplinary interface for Cross Functional Team (SK MB E0, TCP SETs, EXT, G1G, GS, Logistics, Purchase and VW WOB EZHV) etc.
  • Define and execute the long-term E0/D vision and roadmap in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to integrate E0/D into core business strategies
  • Drive business growth by maximizing performance, efficiency, and strategic opportunities
  • Create environment of motivation for the team members to meet their respective targets thereby providing them opportunities for professional growth and development

R5. Strategy

  • Lead short term and long term strategies for E0/D
  • Utilize analytics and insights to measure impact, optimize strategies, and inform leadership decisions.
  • Drive innovation in employee engagement, digital experience, and service delivery
  • Lead and guide the TCP departments on specific R&D systems issues by ensuring the required training
  • Develop a multi-skilled, competent, and expert team to meet evolving business needs

R6. Budget

  • Lead capacity planning by estimating, monitoring, and controlling resource requirements for upcoming project
  • Plan, Monitor, Control budget for E0/D team in connection with SK E0D Department

R7. Audit And Compliance

  • Ensure the compliance & adherence to management systems requirements, Lead E0/D audits, Risks assessments, Trainings and Sustainability initiatives
  • Design, revise, and implement ISO processes for three functional teams while acting with integrity and ensuring adherence to compliance requirements
  • Essential Process Standards and regulations in the general operational framework: All generally applicable standards such as the Product Emergence Process (PEP), ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001, Internal control system (ICS) /Risk management process, and current Process and organization Standards as per Employees portal.

All obligatory group policies, organization standards, methodological guidelines and process descriptions for this position. E.g. PCMS KRL0.43, Golden rule handbook, PEP ON2.003, etc.
