Lead Data Analytics Engineer

Up to £90k | Manchester | Hybrid | Permanent

This is a senior technical role with real ownership.

You’ll be the most senior technical person responsible for Data Analytics — owning how data is modelled, structured and turned into insight across the business.

You won’t own the entire data platform.

But analytics is yours.

What you’ll actually be doing

• Owning the technical direction of Data Analytics across the business
• Designing and maintaining analytics-ready data models that scale
• Building and evolving Azure data pipelines
• Hands-on with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Owning how data feeds into Power BI — models, structure, performance
• Leading and mentoring Data Analysts from a technical standpoint
• Turning business questions into clear, usable analytics
• Working closely with senior Data Engineers to align analytics with the wider platform
• Raising the bar on data quality, usability and trust in reporting

The kind of background that fits

• Strong experience as a Senior Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer
• Proven ownership of analytics or BI capability in a business
• Deep understanding of data modelling for analytics and reporting
• Hands-on experience with Azure and ADF
• Strong experience supporting and guiding Data Analysts
• Power BI experience from a data & modelling perspective (not just dashboards)
• Comfortable being the technical authority without needing a Head-of title
