Lead AI Engineer (GenAI & Consulting Focus)

We are seeking a Lead AI Engineer who can combine deep technical expertise in Generative AI with strong consulting and client-facing capabilities.

This role involves working closely with clients to understand business challenges, design AI-driven solutions, and lead the architecture and solutioning of GenAI initiatives. You will play a critical role in pre-sales, solution design, and delivery alignment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead client discovery sessions, requirement gathering, and business problem definition
• Translate business needs into AI/GenAI solution approaches and architectures
• Own solutioning, high-level design, and technical estimations
• Contribute to pre-sales activities, including proposals and Statement of Work (SoW)**
• Design and architect:
• LLM-based applications
• RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines
• AI agents and intelligent automation solutions
• Develop and guide prompt engineering and orchestration strategies
• Work with LLM ecosystems such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source models
• Design scalable AI systems integrating APIs, enterprise platforms, and vector databases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (BA, Data Engineering, MLOps, Delivery) to define scope, timelines, and execution plans
• Lead technical discussions, solution walkthroughs, and client presentations
• Handle client queries, objections, and technical clarifications
• Ensure feasibility, scalability, and alignment with business goals
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship during implementation
• Stay updated with latest trends in GenAI, LLMs, and AI frameworks

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in AI/ML, Data Science, or related fields
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Generative AI / LLMs (GPT, Claude, etc.)
• RAG architectures and pipelines
• Prompt engineering and LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain / LlamaIndex)
• Experience with:
• OpenAI / Azure OpenAI / Anthropic APIs
• Vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, etc.)
• Strong understanding of:
• AI application architecture
• APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations
• Proven experience in:
• Solutioning / pre-sales / technical consulting
• Client-facing roles and stakeholder management
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Good to Have

• Experience with AI agents / autonomous workflows
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
• Understanding of MLOps, deployment, and scaling AI systems
• Background in consulting or IT services organizations
