Overview of Job

As a Junior Shopify Developer, you will be a key member of our development team, working closely with senior developers to design, build and maintain efficient, scalable and user-friendly Shopify stores. You will be involved in various aspects of the Shopify development lifecycle focusing primarily on customizing and enhancing e-commerce websites using Shopify's platform.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable and efficient code for Shopify themes and customizations adhering to best practices and Shopify's guidelines.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers and senior developers to develop and maintain e-commerce features and functionalities.
• Participate in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback to enhance overall code quality and development practices.
• Write and maintain tests to ensure the reliability and performance of Shopify stores; identify and resolve bugs and performance issues.
• Create and manage reusable components and custom sections within Shopify themes to streamline development and ensure consistency.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including backend developers and designers, to integrate front-end components with Shopify's backend services.
• Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation to support ongoing development and knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies, frameworks and methodologies relevant to Shopify development, including new Shopify features and best practices.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 1 to 2.6 years of experience in front-end development, with a focus on Shopify.
• Proficiency in Shopify's Liquid templating language and a solid understanding of Shopify's best practices and conventions.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with customizing Shopify themes and working with Shopify's APIs and app integrations.
• Experience using version control systems, particularly Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and optimize front-end code.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
