Our team is building a modern, scalable platform within a highly regulated environment—requiring thoughtful legal guidance across regulatory, transactional, and investment activities. This is an opportunity to join a growing company where legal plays a key role in shaping the business.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Corporate & Regulatory Attorney to join our Legal team, with a strong emphasis on regulatory matters. This role will support the company’s compliance with insurance and financial services regulations, while also contributing to transactional and investment-related legal work.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a regulated financial institution (e.g., insurance company, bank, asset manager) or advising such clients, with exposure to regulatory frameworks, corporate transactions, and real estate or credit-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal support on regulatory and compliance matters, including insurance and financial services regulations
  • Assist in interpreting and applying state insurance laws, regulatory guidance, and industry requirements
  • Support regulatory filings, inquiries, and interactions with state insurance departments and other regulators
  • Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory considerations related to new products, investments, and business initiatives
  • Support corporate transactions, including investments, financings, and strategic initiatives
  • Review, draft, and negotiate agreements, including NDAs, investment documents, and loan-related contracts
  • Provide legal support for commercial mortgage lending and other investment activities
  • Conduct legal due diligence across corporate, regulatory, and real estate matters
  • Coordinate with external counsel on specialized regulatory and transactional issues
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 1–4 years of relevant legal experience (law firm or in-house)
  • Experience working with or advising regulated financial institutions (insurance companies, banks, asset managers, or similar)
  • Strong exposure to regulatory and compliance matters in financial services or insurance
  • Experience with corporate transactions and contract drafting/negotiation
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate, lending, or structured finance is a plus
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with insurance regulatory frameworks (e.g., annuities, statutory requirements, state DOI interactions)
  • Background in banking regulation, asset management, or broker-dealer regulation
  • Exposure to commercial real estate lending or CMBS-related transactions
  • Experience at a law firm with financial regulatory, corporate, or real estate practice
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • Fully remote work environment
  • Significant exposure to regulatory strategy and senior leadership
  • Opportunity to work across a broad range of legal and business issues
  • Career growth within a rapidly expanding, entrepreneurial company
