Blitz aims to simplify scalability & unlock the growth of new-age eCommerce brands by making Same-Day delivery more convenient, reliable & affordable. Same-Day Delivery helps brands with converting their browsers into buyers, serving as a competitive advantage and reducing working capital challenges. Blitz currently engages with enterprise brands with category focus into Fashion, Beauty & Personal Care and Healthcare; helping them with 30% - 40% increase in their website conversions & increasing retention by 2x by providing best in class experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including brand onboarding, vendor, procurement, partnership, marketing, logistics, warehousing, technology, SaaS, licensing, and service agreements.
- Lead legal support for strategic partnerships, supplier relationships, and commercial transactions across the Blitz ecosystem.
- Advise business, operations, product, finance, and leadership teams on contractual, regulatory, and risk-related matters.
- Support legal matters relating to fulfillment, warehousing, supply chain, and last-mile delivery operations, including negotiations with logistics and operational partners.
- Handle high-stakes commercial negotiations with enterprise counterparties, including liability caps, indemnity structures, COD payment terms, settlement waterfalls, and risk allocation frameworks.
- Support fraud, theft, misconduct, and financial irregularity matters by coordinating with external criminal law counsel; including filing FIRs and working with law enforcement agencies where required (e.g., COD fraud, cash misappropriation, rider disputes).
- Review and negotiate SaaS, software licensing, technology, cloud services, and platform integration agreements with a focus on data and operational risk.
- Provide guidance on e-commerce, consumer protection, advertising, competition law, data privacy, and other regulations impacting the business.
- Ensure compliance with digital and cybersecurity regulations, including data breach response protocols and regulatory obligations under applicable frameworks.
- Develop scalable contract templates, legal playbooks, policies, and processes to support Blitz's rapid growth.
- Support corporate governance, compliance initiatives, dispute management, fundraising, and other strategic projects as required.
Qualifications
- LL.B. from a recognized institution; additional qualifications will be an advantage.
- 2–5 years of post-qualification experience as a Corporate Lawyer, preferably in high-growth startups, e-commerce, quick commerce, consumer internet, logistics, fintech-adjacent businesses, or leading law firms.
- Strong experience in commercial contracting, strategic partnerships, technology transactions, vendor negotiations, and procurement agreements.
- Demonstrated experience handling enterprise-level negotiations involving liability, indemnity, payment risk, and contractual safeguards.
- Exposure to fraud, disputes, or criminal coordination matters (FIR filing, external counsel coordination) will be a strong plus.
- Good understanding of data protection, cybersecurity, and digital compliance frameworks, including DPDP Act 2023, IT Act, and CERT-In guidelines.
- Familiarity with fintech-adjacent regulatory environments, including payment systems, COD flows, and merchant settlement structures.
- Understanding of enforceability of digital contracts, including click-wrap, browse-wrap, and e-sign agreements under Indian law.
- Basic understanding of gig and platform workforce regulations under applicable labour codes.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
