Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a strategic and operationally hands-on Head of HR to lead our Human Resources department. You will be responsible for the entire employee lifecycle—from manpower planning and industrial relations to organizational development and compliance. As a key member of the leadership team, you will align HR programs with business goals, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure a safe, compliant, and engaging work environment.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

1. Strategic HR Leadership & Budgeting

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development of HR goals, objectives, and systems that support the company’s long-term strategic vision.
  • Policy Governance: Design, implement, and oversee HR policies and practices that ensure a positive employer-employee relationship.
  • Financial Oversight: Develop and monitor the annual HR budget, including compensation, benefits, training, and philanthropic giving.
  • Executive Advisory: Act as a strategic partner to the Plant Manager and Executive Team, providing coaching and guidance on organizational health and significant HR risks.

2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Manpower Planning: Partner with functional heads to develop annual manpower plans and headcount approvals aligned with the budget.
  • Recruitment Strategy: Lead the standardizing of hiring practices; oversee the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle for a superior workforce.
  • Executive Hiring: Directly manage the interview and selection process for management and executive-level candidates.

3. Talent Development & Performance Management

  • Learning & Development (L&D): Identify organizational skill gaps and implement training initiatives, including management development, onboarding, and technical cross-training.
  • Performance Management (PMS): Lead the implementation of the PMS, including goal setting (KRAs/KPIs), quarterly reviews, and Performance Development Plans (PDPs).
  • Succession Planning: Design and manage organization development initiatives, focusing on succession planning and key employee retention.

4. Compensation, Benefits & Payroll

  • Total Rewards Strategy: Establish competitive wage structures, pay bands, and variable pay systems (bonuses/raises) based on market research.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage cost-effective employee benefit programs and insurance relationships that drive retention.
  • Payroll Oversight: Ensure the integrity and timely execution of the monthly payroll process and statutory remittances.

5. Employee Relations, Culture & Engagement

  • Engagement & Culture: Identify and monitor the organization’s culture; lead engagement surveys and implement reward/recognition programs.
  • Internal Communication: Manage feedback loops through town halls, suggestion programs, and the employee Intranet.
  • Conflict Resolution: Lead investigations into employee concerns and manage the progressive discipline system and grievance redressal procedures.

6. Industrial Relations, Safety & Compliance

  • Legal Compliance: Serve as the primary contact for labor attorneys and government agencies (DOL, OSHA, etc.) to ensure 100% statutory compliance.
  • Industrial Relations (IR): Lead worker settlement negotiations and manage relationships with external labor bodies to ensure industrial peace.
  • Health & Safety (OHS): Oversee Occupational Health & Safety standards, the Occupational Health Centre, and company-wide safety programs.
  • General Administration: Supervise security, transport, canteen services, and facility housekeeping standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Human resources management: 3 years (Required)
  • HR & IR: 3 years (Required)

Language:

  • Gujarati (Preferred)
  • English (Required)
