Role Overview
We are looking for an HR Business Partner who will act as a strategic advisor to India based business leaders, helping shape team structures, manager capability, and workforce productivity.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business strategy and people decisions, especially in an environment where hiring is selective and optimization is key.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering
- Partner with business leaders to design lean, effective team structures
- Translate business priorities into people strategies and actions
- Actively participate in business reviews and planning discussions
Workforce Optimization
- Identify opportunities for role clarity, redeployment, or redundancy
- Drive internal mobility over external hiring where possible
- Support leaders in making thoughtful, data-backed workforce decisions
- Build consistency in people management practices across teams
Performance Management
- Drive clear performance differentiation across teams
- Support calibration discussions with insights and perspective
- Ensure timely and effective handling of underperformance
Employee Lifecycle (Critical Moments)
Partner on:
- Key talent retention
- Conflict resolution
- Sensitive employee situations and exits
- Ensure employee experience aligns with company values
What Success Looks Like
- Manages independently and effectively handle most people decisions
- Strong alignment between business goals and team structures
- Reduced unnecessary hiring through better internal optimization
- Clear differentiation between high and low performance
- High trust and credibility with business leaders
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience:
- Around 10 years in HR, with experience in business partnering roles
- Background in high-growth / startup / fintech / tech environments preferred
Capabilities:
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable handling tough people decisions (performance, exits, restructuring)
- Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
- Coaching mindset with a focus on building manager capability
- Analytical thinking and comfort with data-driven insights
Soft skills:
- Pragmatic and outcome-oriented
- High ownership and accountability
- Courage to challenge with empathy and clarity
