Profile 


  • Indian national or long-term resident with strong understanding of the Indian higher education and research publishing ecosystem  
  • 20+ years of experience in B2B enterprise sales, preferably in STM research publishing, EdTech, or Research Tech 
  • Strong preference for candidates with leadership experience in reputed STM research publishers 
  • Deep understanding of academic publishing (higher ed & research) workflows, STM journal ecosystems, research integrity, peer review, and institutional partnerships  
  • Strong network within publishers, universities (government & private), research institutions, and regulatory bodies  
  • Proven experience in building and scaling teams with full P&L ownership  
  • Experience selling enterprise SaaS, publishing technology, or AI-driven academic solutions is preferred  
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Hindi and additional regional languages is an advantage  
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and local governance  


Key Responsibilities 


  • Drive overall business strategy execution and P&L management for India operations  
  • Lead publisher acquisitions and strategic growth initiatives across academic and research publishing segments  
  • Build, lead, and scale the India team across sales, operations, and partnerships  
  • Establish and maintain C-level relationships with publishers, universities, academic institutions, and research organizations  
  • Develop strategic partnerships with academic bodies, publishing associations, and industry networks  
  • Drive enterprise sales conversations and long-term institutional contracts  
  • Represent the company at publishing conferences, forums, and academic events across India  
  • Work closely with the leadership and product teams to align market needs with platform capabilities  
  • Ensure compliance with Indian regulatory requirements and corporate governance norms

  • Market positioning (Top 3 brand awareness in Indian academic publishing/research technology market by Month 18)  
  • Office setup and operational efficiency (on-time and within budget)
