Head of Nursing

Responsibilities

• Clinical Leadership & Patient Care
• Oversee 24×7 nursing operations across ICU, emergency, wards, OPD, and other clinical areas.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.
• Conduct regular clinical rounds, audits, and patient feedback analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• NABH Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Lead nursing-related NABH accreditation and re-accreditation processes.
• Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and protocols as per NABH standards.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, medication safety, and biomedical waste management guidelines.
• Team Handling & People Management
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Nursing Supervisors, Ward Sisters, Staff Nurses, and Nursing Assistants.
• Plan duty rosters, leave management, and shift allocations for optimal staffing.
• Conduct performance appraisals, identify training needs, and drive skill development programs.
• Hospital Administration & Operations
• Collaborate with medical, paramedical, and administrative departments for seamless operations.
• Manage nursing budgets, inventory (consumables, equipment), and cost control measures.
• Participate in hospital committees (infection control, patient safety, mortality/morbidity review, etc.).
• Training & Development
• Design and conduct in-service education programs, mock drills, and competency-based training.
• Orient new nursing staff to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and safety standards.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, research, and evidence-based nursing practice.
