What You'll Do

As Global IT Software Engineer Manager, you will be responsible for design, development and technical support of BCG's Career Development application. You will work with a team of internal and external developers, as well as a cross-functional team consisting of Project Managers, Product owners, Business Analysts, and others to provide high quality applications which respond to and meet the business needs of the entire BCG organization. You will be expected to participate in hands-on development activities as well as providing technical guidance and oversight of development activities to successfully execute projects.

Frontend Development

• 
  Design and develop scalable user interfaces using React (8+), TypeScript, and Micro Frontend architecture (Module Federation / Single-SPA).
• Build high-performance applications using Next.js (SSR/SSG), Vite, and modern build tools.
• Implement responsive and accessible UI using HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind CSS / Styled Components, ensuring WCAG accessibility compliance.
• Apply state management solutions such as Redux Toolkit or React Query.
• Optimize performance using code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies, and Lighthouse audits.
• Implement Progressive Web Apps (PWA) capabilities and modern browser APIs.

Backend Development:

• 
  Develop scalable backend services using Node.js (Express/NestJS) and GraphQL (Apollo Server).
• Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs following best practices.
• Build and manage Microservices architecture with proper service orchestration.
• Implement event-driven architecture using Kafka / RabbitMQ.
• Integrate and manage Document Databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB) and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Apply caching strategies using Redis.
• Ensure API security using OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect and implement role-based access control (RBAC).

Cloud & DevOps

• 
  Develop and deploy applications in AWS / Azure / GCP cloud environments.
• Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes (K8s).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform / CloudFormation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, integrating automated testing and security scans.
• Manage deployments using Octopus Deploy and implement blue-green / canary deployment strategies.
• Monitor application health and performance using Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Implement logging and observability best practices (ELK stack, OpenTelemetry).

AI & Modern Engineering Practices

• 
  Integrate AI-powered features using OpenAI APIs or cloud AI services.
• Build intelligent search capabilities using ElasticSearch / Vector Databases.
• Implement automation and developer productivity tools using AI-assisted coding workflows.
• Apply Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and SOLID principles.
• Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) and implement automated testing using: Jest / Vitest (Frontend & Backend), Playwright (E2E Testing), Supertest (API testing)

Security & Quality Engineering

• 
  Conduct secure coding practices and vulnerability assessments.
• Implement DevSecOps practices with automated security scanning (Snyk, SonarQube).
• Ensure compliance with OWASP standards.
• Maintain high code quality through peer reviews and static code analysis.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

• 
  Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with

business objectives.

• Collaborate effectively with team members, chapter leads, and cross-functional teams.

CI/CD and Monitoring:

• 
  Use GitHub CI/CD for version control and automated deployment pipelines.
• Implement deployment pipelines with Octopus Deploy and monitor application performance

using Datadog.

What You'll Bring

College degree and bring 8+ years of experience in full-stack development with a strong focus

on React, Nodejs, Document DB, and AWS Services. You have a proven ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance applications and manage complex data systems. Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a passion for delivering impactful solutions are essential.

Experience/Knowledge

• 
  Proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, JSON and responsive design principles.
• Hands-on experience with NodeJS using graphQL for backend development.
• Strong understanding of Document DB and snowflake databases.
• Strong proficiency in react and core web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript,

and TypeScript

• Understanding of RxJS and reactive programming principles.
• Expertise in building responsive, cross-browser-compatible web applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, and deployment best practices.
• Familiarity with AWS services like SQS, S3, SNS.
• Experience working with Front End Architecture – Monolithic, Micro-Frontend.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating front-end applications with backend

Services

• Excellent communication, teamwork abilities and proven abilities to manage multiple priorities

and meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like Jira.

As a Software Engineer specializing in full-stack development within the Mobility team, you will collaborate with the Chapter Lead, Product Owner, and team members to build and deliver high-quality, efficient solutions. Your responsibilities include optimizing functionality, enhancing user experience, and ensuring seamless performance.
