Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a General & Laparoscopic Surgeon based in Kottarakara. The surgeon will perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures, with a focus on minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques where appropriate. Daily responsibilities include conducting outpatient consultations, pre-operative evaluations, and post-operative follow-ups, as well as managing inpatients and coordinating perioperative care with the multidisciplinary team. The role involves participating in ward rounds, case discussions, and clinical meetings, while adhering to hospital protocols, quality standards, and infection control practices. The surgeon will also contribute to patient education, documentation, and continuous improvement of surgical outcomes.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Medicine with the ability to manage pre- and post-operative medical conditions effectively.
• Advanced skills in Surgery, including broad-based general surgery experience and proficiency in laparoscopic procedures.
• Awareness of related specialties such as Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Ophthalmology to enable effective interdisciplinary collaboration and referrals.
• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completed postgraduate training in General Surgery (MS/DNB or equivalent), with valid medical council registration.
• Proven experience in performing common and complex general and laparoscopic surgeries in a hospital setting.
• Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making, and emergency management skills.
• Strong communication skills, ability to counsel patients and families, and commitment to ethical, inclusive, and patient-centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, participate in on-call duties, and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.
