Freelance Documentary Video Editor (Remote)

ReelZig is looking for a talented Documentary Video Editor who understands storytelling, pacing, emotion, and audience retention — not just transitions and effects.

We are looking for editors who can transform raw footage, voiceovers, archival clips, research material, music, and motion graphics into engaging documentary-style content for YouTube and digital platforms.

This is a remote, freelance/project-based opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Edit documentary-style videos with strong storytelling structure

• Create engaging pacing and retention-focused edits

• Work with voiceovers, B-roll, stock footage, music, and sound design

• Add cinematic transitions, subtitles, motion graphics, and visual effects where required

• Maintain consistency in tone, style, and storytelling quality

• Collaborate with the creative team to execute video concepts effectively

• Deliver projects within deadlines

Preferred Skills:

• Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve

• Basic to advanced knowledge of After Effects and motion graphics

• Understanding of cinematic storytelling and documentary editing style

• Experience with YouTube long-form content editing

• Good sense of music, sound design, and emotional pacing

• Knowledge of color correction and color grading

Additional Information:

• Scripts, voiceovers, and creative direction will be provided by the team

• Payment structure will be on a per-project basis

• Preferred editing style includes cinematic documentary storytelling with motion graphics elements similar to Dhruv Rathee-style videos

• Editors should have access to a stable internet connection and professional editing setup

• Long-term collaboration opportunity available for the right candidate

• Communication and file sharing will be managed through WhatsApp and Google Drive
