Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Fleet Manager to oversee the company's vehicles and drivers, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations. Fleet managers ensure that vehicles and drivers are being utilized to their fullest potential in a safe and cost-effective manner. Besides operational concerns, fleet managers also have a role in a company’s human resources, administrative, and finance-related tasks.


Duties

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of vehicle maintenance including scheduling and managing 2 direct reports in maintenance department
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source parts, and services that meet operational needs
  • Implement process improvements to enhance fleet productivity, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory control related to fleet supplies, parts, and materials handling.
  • Recruiting and interviewing prospective driver candidates through Tenstreet as well as other 3rd party applications
  • Conducting new hire onboarding and training
  • maintain driver qualification files
  • oversee daily fleet safety incidents by investigating telematics alerts and apply coaching/training to drivers

  • Key Qualifications and Skills

    • Experience: At least 2 years of previous experience in fleet management or transportation management.
    • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and, in many cases, fleet management software (telematics). Knowledge of RTA a plus but not required
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data on costs, fuel, and efficiency to make improvements.
    • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to manage drivers and negotiate with vendors
