the EleFant is building India’s leading play and childhood ecosystem platform. We help parents access age-appropriate toys and play products through a membership-led model, with doorstep delivery, exchange, sanitisation and support.

As we scale across cities, logistics and fleet operations become one of the most important parts of customer experience. We are looking for a strong Fleet Manager who can manage, build and scale our delivery fleet across India.



Role Overview


The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end fleet operations of the EleFant across India. This includes onboarding delivery partners and drivers, managing fleet availability, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups, controlling logistics cost, monitoring rider performance, and building a scalable city-wise delivery operating system.

This is a hands-on operations role and requires someone who can work closely with city teams, warehouse teams, customer support, vendors and riders to ensure smooth last-mile execution.


Key Responsibilities


1. Driver and Rider Onboarding

  • Identify, onboard and train riders, drivers and delivery partners across cities.
  • Build a city-wise pool of delivery resources including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers and larger vehicles where required.
  • Ensure proper documentation, verification and compliance before onboarding.
  • Maintain a central database of all riders, drivers and fleet partners.


2. Fleet Planning and Allocation

  • Plan daily fleet requirements based on city-wise order volume, pickup volume and delivery routes.
  • Ensure adequate vehicle availability for small toys, large toys and special deliveries.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams for route planning and load planning.
  • Create backup fleet arrangements to avoid delivery failures.


3. Delivery and Pickup Performance

  • Monitor daily delivery, pickup and exchange performance across cities.
  • Track key metrics such as on-time delivery, failed deliveries, rider productivity, cost per order and customer complaints.
  • Ensure smooth execution of same-day or next-day delivery targets wherever applicable.
  • Reduce delays, missed pickups, route inefficiencies and customer escalations.


4. Vendor and Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics partners, vehicle vendors and local fleet agencies.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and ensure cost-effective fleet arrangements.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and replace underperforming partners where needed.
  • Build a reliable multi-city vendor network for scale.


5. Cost Control and Productivity

  • Track city-wise logistics cost and improve cost per order.
  • Improve rider productivity through better routing, batching and planning.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce dependency on expensive vehicles.
  • Work on efficient use of 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers and EV fleet options.


6. Process and SOP Implementation

  • Create and implement SOPs for rider onboarding, route planning, pickup process, delivery process, customer handover, returns and escalation handling.
  • Ensure riders follow brand behaviour, grooming, customer communication and product handling standards.
  • Train riders on handling toys, large products, customer interaction and issue reporting.


7. Reporting and Dashboards

  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly fleet performance reports.
  • Track city-wise manpower, fleet availability, order capacity, cost and service levels.
  • Share clear action plans for cities with low delivery performance or high cost.
  • Build visibility for leadership on logistics performance.

Required Skills and Experience


  • 4 to 8 years of experience in fleet operations, logistics, last-mile delivery or supply chain operations.
  • Experience in managing riders, drivers, delivery partners or fleet vendors.
  • Prior experience in quick commerce, e-commerce, logistics, rental, subscription, D2C or consumer operations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of route planning, manpower planning and city-level execution.
  • Ability to manage PAN India operations with city-wise teams and vendors.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Comfortable with dashboards, Excel, Google Sheets and reporting.
  • Hands-on, execution-oriented and comfortable solving daily operational issues.


Preferred Background


Candidates from companies in logistics, e-commerce, quick commerce, mobility, D2C delivery, furniture subscription, appliance rental, laundry, food delivery or hyperlocal operations will be preferred.
