About Project Shuddhi

Project Shuddhi is a CSR initiative focused on strengthening decentralised solid waste management systems in peri-urban villages of Sulur Taluk. The project aims to improve household waste segregation, establish community-based organic waste processing systems, strengthen Panchayat waste management capacity, and promote cleaner and healthier communities.

Position Summary

The Field Mobiliser will serve as the primary community interface for Project Shuddhi. The role involves engaging with households, sanitation workers, Self-Help Groups, volunteers, Panchayat representatives, and other stakeholders to promote waste segregation, support awareness campaigns, conduct surveys, and monitor project implementation at the village level. The mobiliser will play a critical role in driving behavioural change and ensuring active community participation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Community Mobilisation & Awareness

• Conduct door-to-door awareness campaigns on waste segregation and responsible waste disposal.
• Mobilise households to adopt the two-bin segregation system.
• Organise village meetings, awareness sessions, and community consultations.
• Facilitate behaviour change communication activities related to sanitation, hygiene, and environmental protection.
• Engage village volunteers and community leaders in project activities.

Baseline Surveys & Data Collection

• Conduct household surveys and beneficiary assessments.
• Support Garbage Vulnerable Point (GVP) identification and mapping exercises.
• Collect and maintain field-level data using mobile apps or Google Forms.

Volunteer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Identify and mobilise local youth volunteers.
• Coordinate with panchayat/municipality and waste collectors.
• Facilitate meetings with Panchayat representatives and local institutions.

Event & Training Coordination

• Assist in organising training programs for sanitation workers, volunteers, and community groups.
• Support logistics and arrangements for Aerobin installation, project events and stakeholder meetings.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain attendance records and beneficiary databases.
• Capture photographs, testimonials, and success stories.
• Support preparation of weekly and monthly project reports.

Qualifications

• Candidates with Diploma or Degree in Social Work, waste management, or related fields would be preferred.
• Experience in NGO, waste management, community development, or public health projects.
• Resident of or familiar with the project area.
• Should have a two-wheeler

Skills Required

• Should be familier in Tamil
• Should have a two-wheeler
• Basic smartphone and digital data collection skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within project villages.

Compensation

Salary: 15,000

Travel allowance will be provided for field visits as per project policy.
