Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding international markets, and building long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and retail partners. The role requires developing strategic sales plans, negotiating commercial agreements, and promoting the company's portfolio of leather goods.

The ideal candidate should have an established network of active international buyers and a proven track record of generating business within the leather bags and accessories industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in international markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and corporate clients.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Generate new leads through networking, digital platforms, B2B marketplaces, and industry events.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer trends, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Prepare and present product proposals, quotations, and business presentations.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms with customers.
  • Coordinate with Design, Production, Merchandising, and Quality teams to ensure timely execution of customer orders.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and promptly resolve any issues to maintain long-term business relationships.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, monthly business reports, and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on new product launches and branding initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with export regulations, customer specifications, and quality standards.

  • Required Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, or a related discipline. Graduates from FDDI or NIFT will be preferred.
    • MBA will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Development, International Sales, or Export Marketing, preferably in the leather goods industry.
    • Proven experience in developing international markets and managing overseas customers.
    • Must possess an active portfolio of international buyers and demonstrated success in business generation.
    • Strong understanding of leather products, including handbags, wallets, belts, small leather goods, and travel accessories.


    Required Skills

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Strong networking and relationship management capabilities.
    • Sound knowledge of international leather goods markets and export business.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and business planning skills.
    • Ability to prepare commercial proposals and manage key customer accounts.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
