Estimation Engineer (Mechanical Design)

Job Description

Dehu Engineering (India) Private Limited is looking for a adaptable and meticulous Estimation Engineer prepares accurate cost estimates and quotations for manufacturing projects, supports proposal preparation, and assists engineering and production teams during the bid-to-order phase. This role focuses on material take-offs, basic labour and overhead calculations, vendor price checks, and maintaining bill of materials and rate databases.

Salary : INR 15,000 - 20,000 per month

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for components, assemblies, and complete products using drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
• Perform material takeoffs and quantity calculations from CAD/technical drawings.
• Support bid and proposal activities by compiling price sheets, lead-time inputs, and commercial assumptions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production to validate manufacturability, alternate materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain and update estimation databases (rates, vendor quotes, standard labor norms) and document assumptions used in estimates.
• Assist in post-bid reviews and learn from project cost variances to improve future estimates.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 0-1 years of experience in Manufacturing Industry; Freshers are welcome
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Excel for calculations and templates. Knowledge of estimation/ERP tools is advantageous.
• Strong numerical aptitude & attention to detail.
