Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy & Plant Operations

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, execution, operation, and continuous improvement of renewable energy projects. The role involves technical engineering, regulatory coordination, project planning, and leading plant operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power generation.

• Design electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including Hydropower, Solar PV, BESS, and associated infrastructure.
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, cable schedules, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
• Assist in engineering design optimization and selection of suitable equipment.

• Prepare project cost estimates, BOQs, and technical proposals.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors during project execution.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, and performance evaluation of electrical systems.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion.

• Prepare and review technical documents required for submissions to KSERC, KSEB, SLDC, CEIG, and other statutory authorities.
• Assist in obtaining project approvals and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, SOPs, manuals, and project documentation.

• Lead and supervise the team of plant operators to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations.
• Plan preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities to improve generation efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and operational procedures.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers.
• Understand client requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions.
• Review vendor drawings, technical documents, and specifications.
• Support management with technical presentations and project reviews.

• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and engineering standards.
• Identify process improvements, cost optimization opportunities, and engineering best practices.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and regulatory developments in the renewable energy sector.

• B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

• Knowledge of power systems, electrical protection, and renewable energy systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across Kerala.
