Role Summary

The Director – Compensation & Benefits is responsible for leading the organization's enterprise-wide compensation and benefits strategy, ensuring competitive, equitable, and sustainable reward programs that attract, retain, and motivate talent across multiple geographies. This role partners closely with Business Leaders, HR Business Partners, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and external consultants to develop data-driven compensation strategies aligned with business growth, workforce planning, and organizational transformation. The incumbent will drive compensation governance, annual reward cycles, executive compensation support, benefits optimization, market benchmarking, job architecture, and analytics while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations across operating regions.

Compensation Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and evolve the organization's Compensation Philosophy aligned with business objectives.
  • Design compensation structures including salary ranges, grading framework, job architecture, and pay positioning.
  • Lead enterprise-wide compensation governance and approval frameworks.
  • Ensure internal equity and external market competitiveness.
  • Drive pay transparency and compensation communication strategies.

Annual Compensation Programs

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of annual and off-cycle compensation programs, including merit reviews, promotions, hiring compensation, and retention initiatives.
  • Ensure timely delivery, governance, budget adherence, and a seamless employee experience through close partnership with HRBPs and Finance.

Variable Pay & Incentive Programs

  • Design, implement, and govern variable pay, incentive, sales compensation, and recognition programs aligned with business and performance goals.
  • Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements to drive motivation and retention.

Benefits Strategy

  • Develop and optimize employee benefits programs to enhance employee experience while ensuring cost effectiveness and market competitiveness.
  • Manage vendor partnerships, benefits governance, renewals, and compliance across applicable geographies.

Job Evaluation & Organization Design Support

  • Lead job evaluation, grading, and job architecture initiatives to maintain consistency and scalability across the organization.
  • Support organization design, workforce planning, and role benchmarking to meet evolving business needs.

Market Intelligence & Compensation Analytics

  • Drive market benchmarking, compensation analytics, and pay equity assessments to support competitive and data-driven reward decisions.
  • Provide actionable insights on workforce costs, compensation trends, and talent risks to business leadership.

Executive & Leadership Compensation

  • Support the design, review, and governance of executive compensation, leadership rewards, and retention strategies.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational objectives while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and governance.
  • Budgeting & Financial Partnership
  • Partner with Finance to lead compensation budgeting, workforce cost planning, forecasting, and investment optimization.
  • Monitor compensation spends and provides financial insights to support business growth and cost efficiency.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with compensation policies, statutory regulations, audit requirements, and governance standards across all operating regions.
  • Mitigate compensation-related risks through robust controls, policy adherence, and regular reviews.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Build trusted partnerships with business leaders, HR, Finance, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Legal, and external partners to deliver effective reward programs.
  • Influence key compensation decisions through strong business acumen, stakeholder management, and data-driven recommendations.
