Position Name: Development Engineer ZSB Seat
Department: EK_ Interior
Reporting Position: Team Lead SET I
Qualification: BE/ ME. (Mechanical/Automobile)
Years of Experience: > 10 to 16 yrs.
Location: TCP Pune
Purpose of the Position (Short Summary of the Role):
Represent SET S at India CFT in working, mid management level, project review meetings, AEKO meetings etc. Responsible for support and coordination in team for synchronization of project work and representative of Team HeadSET S. Responsible for Complete Seats & to provide technical input to suppliers and plant colleagues to meet product requirement ensuring right material, process and functionality of the product. He is bridge for VW group technical requirements for component, system development achieving engineering milestone. Responsible for achieving development milestone with cost targets set for project.
Authority:
To represent SET and take decisions during design, product development /manufacturing process in absence of Team Head. To create, coordinate and release set relevant documents for approvals.
Skills Required:
- Component features and applications, design criteria, assembly and manufacturing processes for cockpit components
- Applications of raw materials and failure criteria. Understanding on testing and validation criteria
- Self-starting and self-motivation, Ability to think in wider scope
- Good communications skills and team player
- Team player & CFT Team leading ability
- Product and process knowledge
Key Responsibilities &Tasks:
- Coordinates Sub-group to implement the project tasks and reporting to relevant Team head about project progress.
- Contributes to setting project parameters and their optimization, including time plan, project goals, allotment of resources and saving plans.
- Analyze, prepare, propose and execute the product development process at component, system and vehicle level in an efficient and appropriate way, incl. materials, technical solution and technology for decision making or implementation
- Single Point contact as part owner for suppliers & other departments. Coordination with departments like QA, pilot hall, Purchasing & Development for product optimization and issue resolution.
- Create 3D data, 2D drawings, PDM, TLD, DFMEA and other needed documentation. Upload the documentation in IT systems, for releasing
- Responsible for milestones and deliverables (Concept car, STRAK etc.) till EOP. Creation of WF documentation and release it (P, B, BMG, K etc.)including relevant administrative activities
- Evaluate the test results, define counter-measures and cooperate on their realization. Prepare release recommendation documents for BMG & K-release
- Create documents (problem sheets) and presentation for working level / mid management meetings
- Based on PEP (Product development process) guidelines ensure that the respective component milestones (technical and budgetary) are completed within the stipulated time period and with the desired results
- Support regular development team meetings, facilitate discussions SET wise, interdepartmental, with development consultants, HQ & suppliers to arrive at best solutions for product and company.
- Continuously seek and identify new Indian technologies / development opportunities based on competitor/market trends, customer requirements, Supplier inputs and Manufacturing requirements
- Contribute to the team regarding budget, AEKO preparation and D&D negotiations
- Ensure compliance with internal and external requirement such as Specifications (LAH) regulatory, homologation and identified Key performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Represent and Support SET for CFT review meeting at India level
