The DB administrator is handling physical and applicative database administration activities supporting end 2 end life cycle of product from database perspective
What will your job look like?
Work on MySQL, and Postresql database administration
Administer and maintain on-premises (Postgresq, Mysql) and cloud databases (AWS RDS, custom RDS configurations).
Support and ensure 12/7 oncall support for production and staging
Support backup/recovery, and performance tuning of sql queries
Experience with cloud-managed databases (AWS Cloud)
Automation: Develop PowerShell/Python/PL/SQL scripts for routine tasks (monitoring, health checks, alerting, log cleanup).
Support Upgrades & Patching, Plan/execute database patching, technology refreshes (e.g., Postgresq, Mysql), version upgrades with minimal business impact.
Incident Management: L2/L3 escalation support for critical DB incidents. Root cause analysis (RCA) with post-mortems and preventive measures.
Serve as a highly specialized Technology expert, acting with high autonomy to deliver agreed technical objectives.
Collaborate through participation in peer reviews and work with Development teams to achieve goals.
All you need is...
Bachelor's degree in Science/IT/Computing or equivalent and 5+ years' experience as a Database Administrator.
Experience 5-10 years DBA experience (5+ years Postgresql, Mysql; 3+ years AWS RDS).
Strong expertise in MySQL, and Postresql database administration
Database Management: Administer and maintain on-premises (Postgresq, Mysql) and cloud databases (AWS RDS, custom RDS configurations). Ensure 12/7 oncall support.
Hands-on experience with HA/DR, backup, security, and performance tuning
Experience with cloud-managed databases (AWS Cloud)
Automation: Develop PowerShell/Python/PL/SQL scripts for routine tasks (monitoring, health checks, alerting, log cleanup). Implement Infrastructure-as-Code for DB provisioning.
Upgrades & Patching: Plan/execute database patching, technology refreshes (e.g., Postgresq, Mysql), version upgrades with minimal business impact.
Performance Tuning: Proactively optimize queries, indexes, memory/CPU configs. Use AWR/Statspack, Execution Plans, wait analysis for bottleneck resolution.
Security & Compliance: Implement/obay database security (TDE, roles, auditing, VPD).
Incident Management: L2/L3 escalation support for critical DB incidents. Root cause analysis (RCA) with post-mortems and preventive measures.
Experience with audit and document complex database environments
Strong written communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently
Certifications (Preferred)
