Cybersecurity Engineer I (CSE1)Location:NIWC Pacific – San Diego, CASalary Range: 100 - 110K/yearCertification Required: Security+ (DoD 8570 IAT/IAM/IASAE Level I compliant)Experience: 1 year of experience

Strategic Data Systems is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer I to help implement and maintain cybersecurity protections across mission-critical networks at NIWC Pacific. This role supports cybersecurity compliance, vulnerability mitigation, and system security monitoring within secure RDT&E environments.Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls in accordance with DoD policies and standards
  • Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and compliance requirements
  • Monitor systems for security vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Assist in implementing cybersecurity measures to improve network defense and resilience
  • Support incident response activities and security breach reporting
  • Ensure protection of digital systems, infrastructure, and sensitive data
  • Assist with security documentation, reporting, and compliance tracking

Qualifications

  • Security+ certification (DoD 8570 compliant – IAT/IAM/IASAE Level I)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mathematics with computer science concentration, or related field preferred
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
