Role Description

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for our Electronics R&D division. This is a full-time, hybrid role located in Gurgaon. The CTO will lead the design and development of advanced technologies, oversee product development initiatives, and define the company’s overall technology and IT architecture strategy. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic projects. As the CTO – Electronics R&D, you will be the driving force behind the core electronic architecture of our EVs. Your vision will shape the design of critical systems such as battery management, power electronics, motor control, and embedded intelligence. You won’t just lead engineering—you’ll set the technical DNA of the company, influencing every product we bring to market and ensuring our vehicles deliver unmatched performance and reliability.

What You'll Do

• Define and lead the electronic systems architecture for our EV platforms, including battery management systems (BMS), motor controllers, and vehicle control units (VCUs).
• Oversee end-to-end hardware design—from schematic capture and PCB layout to prototyping and validation.
• Integrate power electronics (DC-DC converters, inverters, onboard chargers) with mechanical and software systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Establish design standards, testing protocols, and quality benchmarks for all electronic components.
• Build and mentor a high-performance electronics engineering team from the ground up.

Engage with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and investors to align technical capabilities with business goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in Product Development and leading R&D initiatives in the electronics or mobility sector
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results within set timelines
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field
• Industry experience: 8 to 12 years in R&D
• Proven expertise in electronic hardware design for automotive or high-reliability applications.
• Strong background in power electronics, embedded systems, and control algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with EV-specific systems such as BMS, inverters, and CAN communication protocols.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance technical innovation and business strategy.
• A track record of taking products from concept to production.
• Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Experience in the electric vehicle or mobility sector is highly desirable
