Crew Payroll Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Crew Payroll Accountant to join our finance team in Kochi. The role will be responsible for managing payroll processes for crew members, ensuring accurate salary calculations, compliance with maritime payroll regulations, and timely processing of payments.

The ideal candidate should have strong payroll and accounting experience, preferably within the shipping or maritime industry.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end crew payroll processing for seafarers and offshore personnel

• Review and verify crew wage accounts, contracts, and allotments

• Calculate wages, overtime, leave pay, and other payroll-related components

• Ensure accurate payroll postings and reconciliations in accounting systems

• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and maritime regulations

• Coordinate with crewing, HR, and finance teams to ensure correct payroll inputs

• Process crew remittances, advances, and allotments in a timely manner

• Prepare payroll reports and support monthly financial closing activities

• Assist with audit requirements and documentation related to payroll

• Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy and process efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 3–5 years of experience in payroll accounting or finance operations

• Strong understanding of payroll processing and accounting principles

• Good knowledge of Excel and financial systems

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive payroll information

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Good to Have

• Experience working in the shipping, maritime, or offshore industry

• Familiarity with crew payroll processes and seafarer wage calculations

• Experience working with CAPE (Crew and Payroll Enterprise) system

• Exposure to international payroll or maritime compliance standards
