Role Description The Commis Chef I & III - Oriental Cuisine role is a full-time, on-site position based in South Goa. The person in this role assists senior kitchen staff with daily food preparation, cooking, and plating for various menu items while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation. Responsibilities include following standardized recipes, preparing ingredients, and supporting different kitchen stations during service. The Commis Chef I & III is expected to uphold strict hygiene and safety standards, ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients, and keep work areas clean and organized. The role also involves effective communication with the culinary team to coordinate orders, manage preparation timelines, and support smooth kitchen operations.
Requirement: Minimum 1 year experience as Commis 1 or Commis 3 in Oriental Cuisine
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Food Preparation and Culinary Skills appropriate to a professional kitchen environment.
- Ability to perform core Cooking tasks, including basic and intermediate techniques across different kitchen stations.
- Commitment to high standards of Hygiene and food safety, including knowledge of sanitation practices and proper food handling.
- Effective Communication skills to coordinate with chefs, stewards, and service staff in a fast-paced setting.
- Prior experience as a commis chef or in a similar culinary role, preferably in hotel or restaurant operations.
- Formal culinary education or certification from a recognized institution is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from senior culinary professionals.
