Our Commercial Lines Underwriting Office is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to conduct and lead reviews intended to assess underwriting skills and practices throughout Commercial Lines and Sales. Reviews are designed to measure underwriting performance against defined standards and goals, as well as identify efficiencies and opportunities for insurance improvements including service or quality gaps. This role is responsible for establishing and implementing independent audits of underwriting files, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with underwriting to ensure adherence to policies and procedures. This position is based at our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio.

The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $102,500 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be Ready To

  • conduct comprehensive audits of underwriting files, focusing on accuracy, completeness, and adherence to departmental policies and procedures
  • develop deep expertise and work in collaboration with underwriting management on the execution of State Plans and initiatives
  • establish effective working relationships with Commercial Lines and Sales leadership
  • present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written
  • work independently with limited oversight on reviews of varying levels of complexity
  • manage multiple tasks, including policy audits and projects to meet simultaneous deadlines
  • operate in the ‘gray zone’ by conducting underwriting analyses on subject decisions
  • analyze and prepare the results of review audits to communicate outcomes of quality activities and present the findings back to the underwriter, territory manager, and CLD management
  • collaborate with management to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in underwriting processes
  • continuously evolve and improve quality assurance practices in compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • performs related duties as required

Bring Education And Experience From

  • a bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • prior property and casualty experience (required)
  • AINS, AU, or other insurance designations (preferred)
