Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Sr Accountant to join our Shared Services team in Bengaluru. Reporting to the AR Sr Manager, the role will support core AR operations including managing invoicing, cash applications, dispute resolution, and sub-ledger accuracy coupled with driving finance transformation & process improvements within the Q2C domain. Responsibilities
- AR Operations & Transaction Processing
- Manage end-to-end invoice lifecycle — creation, delivery, adjustments, and credit memo processing
- Perform accurate and timely cash application across multiple payment channels (ACH, wire, check, credit card), ensuring minimal unapplied cash.
- Execute daily AR sub-ledger reconciliations and resolve open items within agreed SLAs.
- Monitor and manage aging buckets; escalate delinquent accounts to the Collections team with well-documented case summaries.
- Dispute Management & Customer Communication
- Act as a primary liaison for billing disputes — investigate root causes, coordinate with Sales, Customer Success, and Billing Operations to drive timely resolution.
- Maintain complete and accurate dispute logs, track resolution cycle times and flag systemic patterns to management.
- Draft professional customer correspondence for payment follow-ups, dispute acknowledgements, and settlement agreements.
- Month-End Close & Reporting
- Execute month-end AR close activities including balance sheet account reconciliations, bad debt provisioning, and journal entry preparation.
- Support external and internal audits by preparing audit schedules, workpapers, and reconciliation documentation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with Business Finance, Revenue Assurance, and FP&A teams to provide AR data insights that inform business decisions.
- Represent the Shared Services team in cross-functional projects, global calls, and process governance forums.
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA (Inter/Final), CMA, or MBA (Finance) preferred.
- 3–5 years of hands-on Accounts Receivable / Order-to-Cash experience, ideally in SaaS or shared services companies
- Proficiency in Oracle and advanced MS Excel
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Demonstrated experience in month-end close, balance sheet reconciliation, and audit support.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Accountable and dependable — follows through on commitments, meets deadlines, and raises issues proactively.
- Collaborative team player who contributes positively to shared goals and supports colleagues.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic, process-driven environment with evolving tools and systems.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a professional and solution-focused approach to interactions.
- Experience leading process improvement or transformation projects.
- Prior experience working with global teams across time zones, particularly US-based counterparts is preferred.
