Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Azure / DevOps / AKS)

Job Type: 1- year contract (Maternity leave coverage)

Location: 585 8 Ave SW, Calgary, AB (Onsite Mondays and Thursdays)

Start Date: Mid-May (ASAP)

Hours: 40 hrs per week

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM

Overtime: Occasional evening work may be required (with time off in lieu)

Rates: $70/hr T4 or $85/hr Inc.

Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Analyst to support and enhance a mission-critical Azure cloud environment. This role requires hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD pipelines. You will play a key role in maintaining production environments, optimizing performance, and enabling seamless deployments in a fast-paced enterprise setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) in a production environment
• Deploy and maintain containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Monitor system performance and reliability; troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues
• Optimize platform performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Collaborate closely with development teams to support application deployments
• Ensure high availability and operational excellence of cloud infrastructure

Required Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience working in Azure cloud environments
• Proven hands-on production experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) (mandatory)
• Strong expertise with Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
• Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, and RBAC
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience in the oil & gas industry
• Familiarity with GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux)
• Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor
• Experience with service mesh technologies
• Exposure to multi-cloud environments

Certifications (Preferred)

• Microsoft Azure: AZ-104 or AZ-305
• DevOps: AZ-400
• Kubernetes: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
