Job Description

1. Requirement to Appoint Finance Controller  

The Finance Controller is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting activities, ensuring robust financial controls, and partnering with business leaders to drive financial performance. This role combines Management Information Systems (MIS), budgeting, FP&A, banking & treasury management, costing & cost control, compliance, and risk management to support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.


2. Role Dimensions

Financial Reporting & MIS
  • Lead preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain Management Information Systems (MIS) to provide actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Standardize reporting frameworks across divisions to ensure consistency and transparency.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Drive the annual budgeting process in partnership with business units.
  • Prepare rolling forecasts, scenario analysis, and long-range plans to support strategic objectives.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide insights with corrective action recommendations.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Provide analytical support for revenue performance, cost analysis, margin enhancement, and capital expenditure planning.
  • Analyse financial results, identify trends, and advise on performance optimization.
  • Support commercial decision-making through financial modeling and investment appraisals.
Banking, Cash & Treasury Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and auditors.
  • Manage cash flow planning, working capital optimization, and treasury operations.
  • Ensure efficient management of borrowings, bank covenants, and credit facilities.
Costing & Cost Management
  • Implement and maintain costing systems suitable for manufacturing operations.
  • Analyse product & process costs to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain and sales team  to identify cost reduction opportunities, enhance cost controls and support pricing decisions, capex evaluations, and commercial terms.
  • Support procurement through cost analytics and vendor comparisons.
Compliance , Internal Controls & Risk Management
  • Oversee compliance with statutory regulations (e.g., GST, corporate tax, SEBI/other applicable standards) and internal policies.
  • Strengthen internal controls and compliance frameworks to mitigate risks and support audit readiness.
  • Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks; recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain risk registers and support enterprise risk management initiatives.
  • Promote financial discipline and governance best practices across the organization.


Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and account teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence.



3.Ideal Candidate 

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) 
  • Experience: 10 + years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior controller/finance leadership role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems, MIS tools, and advanced Excel/BI reporting tools.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing costing methods, inventory control, budgeting techniques, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
