Business Unit Head - Plant Engineering

Company Profile : A premier, mid sized off shore engineering center, ISO-certified global engineering design house with over 25 years of domain expertise, serving multiple international clients across North America and Europe.

Role: We are seeking a Business Unit Head - Plant Engineering to lead, scale and operationalize delivery center supporting North America refining, chemical and petrochemical majors.

Work Location: COCHIN, KERALA

Key Responsibilities

• ​BU Strategy & P&L: Define the growth roadmap and own full P&L accountability (revenue, utilization, and margins).
• ​Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a robust multi-disciplinary team of 50+ members and their respective Discipline Heads (Process, Piping, Structural, Mechanical, E&I).
• ​Operational Excellence: Streamline workflows, 3D model review protocols, and robust quality assurance across concurrent greenfield and brownfield projects.
• ​Client Management: Interface directly with international client leadership, EPC partners, and licensors across global time zones.

​ Profile Requirements

• ​Experience: 20+ years in EPC / EPCM environments, with 8–10 years in leadership and 5+ years managing multi-discipline teams of 50+ people.
• ​Domain Expertise: Deep design knowledge of downstream unit operations (distillation, FCC, hydrotreating, utilities, and tankages).
• ​US Codes & Standards: Comprehensive compliance knowledge of ASME (B31.3, Sec VIII), API (650, 620, 510, 570), NFPA, IBC, AISC, and PIP.
• ​Software Oversight: Familiarity with AutoCAD Plant 3D, AVEVA E3D, SmartPlant 3D, Caesar II, and PV Elite.
• ​Education & Travel: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering. Good to have a valid B1/B2 Visa.
