Job Summary

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light café offerings while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The role requires excellent beverage preparation skills, product knowledge, cleanliness, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, smoothies, shakes, and other specialty drinks as per standard recipes.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of every beverage.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other café equipment.
• Monitor beverage quality and ensure customer satisfaction.

Customer Service

• Welcome customers warmly and provide excellent service.
• Recommend beverages, bakery items, and healthy café offerings based on customer preferences.
• Handle customer queries and resolve concerns professionally.
• Build positive customer relationships to encourage repeat visits.

Food & Product Handling

• Prepare simple food items and assist in serving bakery products, sandwiches, salads, and healthy snacks.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients following food safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other café supplies.

Hygiene & Safety

• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee station, equipment, counters, and seating area.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines at all times.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and cleanliness throughout the shift.

Inventory & Operations

• Assist in daily opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain inventory records and report stock shortages to the Café Manager.
• Support receiving and storing deliveries as per company standards.
• Minimize wastage and ensure efficient use of café supplies.

Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff for smooth café operations.
• Participate in training programs and product knowledge sessions.
• Support teammates during peak business hours.

Required Qualifications

• High School/Diploma; Hotel Management or Hospitality qualification preferred.
• Certification in Barista or Coffee Preparation is an added advantage.

Experience

• 1+ years as a Barista in cafés, coffee chains, restaurants, or hospitality establishments.
