Job Overview

The Product Experience Design team at LPL is looking for an extremely talented AVP Designer, Product Experience / User Experience / Experience Design (PX / UX / XD) to join our team. We are looking for a proven Product Experience / User Experience Designer with experience in and a passion for designing new products and services, who advocates for users, embraces human-centered design principles, and loves designing leading experiences through direct customer feedback. You utilize industry best practices, believe in aligning business and customer needs, can navigate and be effective in complex organizations, and are experienced at driving quality customer experiences. Deliverables include project vision documentation, interactive designs, user feedback reports, and UI definition documents. This role reports to VP, User Experience Design within the Product Experience Center of Excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of new products/services/offerings that customers love and support new product development.
  • Engage with product stakeholders and partners to lead design thinking workshops for solving some of the industry’s most complex problems and contribute to product direction.
  • Utilize industry best practices, influence product direction, and become a SME for the products used by our customers: financial professionals and investors.
  • Bring together product, business, and engineering partners to collaboratively create experiences that are desirable, feasible, viable, and high impact.
  • Develop plans that drive buy-in from senior management and product owners, while also helping to drive forward experience outcomes for the business, product, and customers.
  • Drives strategic decisions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Partner with teams to plan customer research, create testable hypothesis, and turn quantitative and qualitative research results into impactful product changes. Iterate on and improve the design’s effectiveness through regular customer engagement.
  • Create artifacts that clearly articulate the value of design and product experience, while iterating the design around emerging business goals and engineering factors.
  • Map out customer and business needs to support and drive design decisions.
  • Create and consult on effective data visualization designs (Tableau experience is a bonus).
  • Lead quality design outcomes within agile sprint-based environments.
  • Advocate for the value of good design.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience utilizing customer-centered methodologies.
  • 3+ in design and supporting the development of new products and services.
  • Background in product experience (PX), user experience (UX), experience design (XD), information architecture (IA), interaction design (IxD), or visual/user interface design (UI).
  • Have the ability to lead quality design outcomes within agile sprint-based environments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential; the successful candidate will be highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task across various technology initiatives.
