Job Description
Role: Automation Engineer (Commissioning & Service)
Location: Sambalpur, Odisha
Experience: 7+ years of experience in Automation, Control Systems, and Commissioning within Process Industries (Aluminium industry preferred)

Educational Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Automation Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering

Skills Required:
- Strong experience in automation systems engineering, commissioning, and troubleshooting for industrial plants.
- Hands on expertise in PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems, including configuration, testing, and commissioning.
- Proficient in PLC programming and diagnostics using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagrams.
- Experience in loop checking, I/O validation, FAT, SAT, and site commissioning activities.
- Ability to read, interpret, and validate control logic, P&IDs, electrical drawings, and instrumentation schematics.
- Exposure to high voltage and low voltage electrical systems related to automation and control.
- Preferably hands on experience with Aluminium smelter equipment (PTM, GAP, Rodding Shop).
- Understanding of maintenance philosophies and their application to automation and control systems.
- Experience in developing commissioning procedures, SOPs, and reliability improvement plans.
- Experience in root cause analysis of automation and instrumentation failures (RCA, FMEA).
- Knowledge of site technical services, audits, and troubleshooting support.
- Experience in site project execution, erection coordination, and commissioning support.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with customer facing exposure.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute site erection, testing, and commissioning of automation, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Perform PLC/DCS/SCADA commissioning, system integration, and performance validation.
- Provide on site technical support, troubleshooting, and diagnostics during commissioning and operation.
- Conduct site audits of automation and instrumentation systems and recommend performance improvements.
- Support refurbishment, modernization, and system upgrade activities.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning reports, as built documentation, and system performance records.
- Provide technical support to customers for products and automation solutions.
- Attend site shutdowns, and critical commissioning activities.
- Willingness to travel extensively to client sites as required.
- Ensure compliance with Fives safety standards and site safety practices.
- Support internal and external sales teams with technical inputs, site assessments, and solution proposals.
